UKIP suspends Geoffrey Clark from party over manifesto

A spokesman for UKIP has confirmed Geoffrey Clark has been suspended from the party over his personal manifesto.

Yesterday, when contacted by the Reporter regarding the manifesto’s call for the compulsory abortion of any foetus with Down’s syndrome, the spokesman had defended Mr Clark’s right to opinions not in line with the party’s and called him an “excellent councillor”.

Today, the spokesman said: “He has now been suspended from the party. I didn’t know we were able to take action immediately. There have been ongoing discussions and we can now legally suspend him.”

“If by any bizarre chance he wins in the by-election, he will not be representing the party,” he said.
