Police are appealing for witnesses after reports of gunshots being fired in Burnham Road, Dartford.

Officers were called at 9.30pm yesterday (Monday) after shots were fired at a building, breaking two windows of separate flats.

The road had been closed for most of today (Tuesday) as police investigated the incident.

No injuries were reported.

Detective sergeant Richard Le Jeune said: “Reports of this nature are incredibly rare and we believe this to be an isolated incident.

“However, we are treating it seriously and would urge anyone with information to contact the dedicated appeal line on 01622 654864 quoting reference 28-1760.

“Alternatively call Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
