Armed officers were called to the scene on Wednesday

Armed officers from Kent Police were called out to Dartford on Wednesday when an armed robbery reportedly took place.

The robber reportedly used a weapon to threaten a member of staff at a shop in Watling Street just before 1.30pm.

He then made off with cash, leaving the shop on foot.

Officers on foot and in a police helicopter searched the area, but now Kent Police are appealing for witnesses.

The suspect is described as a white man aged 18 to 25 years old, around 5ft8in and of medium build.

He was believed to be wearing a dark coloured hooded top with the hood up and dark coloured trousers with bright white trainers.
