Update: Man in his seventies pronounced dead after Northfleet collision

Kent Police are now appealing for information after the collision this morning on Perry Street, Northfleet.

A pedestrian and a white Hyundai van were reportedly involved in a crash at around 7.55am this morning.

The pedestrian, a man in his 70s believed to be from Gravesend, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the van was taken to hospital with injuries believed to be minor.

Perry Street is currently closed in both directions while officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit inspect the scene.

It is likely to remain closed until 2pm.
