Police arrested a 26-year-old man last week

A safe stolen from a temple in Gravesend during a burglary last week has been returned to its owners.

The property was taken from the Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara in Saddington Street on Friday, June 24.

Police managed to find the safe after they arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with the incident.

They returned the safe to Gurdwara representatives on Tuesday.

Officers are continuing to investigate the theft and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
