The leak was first spotted on Friday

Work to fix a leak spotted days ago is set to continue near the busy Swanley roundabout.

Thames Water had been told of the leak at the weekend and started repair works on Monday.

Two-way traffic lights had been in use up until Tuesday morning, when they were removed.

A Thames Water spokesperson explained: “We’re repairing a leak which was first reported to us at the weekend.

“We started work yesterday but had to stop to allow an electricity company to make a power cable safe before we could continue.

“We’re back working today though but it’s not yet clear how long the job will take.

“We’re keeping traffic flowing as best we can by just narrowing the road rather than using the lights.”
