UPDATE: Two killed in M26 Crash

Two people have been killed and seven injured following a five vehicle crash that closed the M26 in both directions yesterday.

The motorway has reopened this morning after the Highways Agency cleared the area.

The incident took place just after 9.40am yesterday and involved two cars, two lorries and a van on the westbound carriageway in Kent with seven people being taken to hospital

Five ambulance crews, two ambulance cars and a Hazardous Area Response team (HART) had attended the scene after reports of a collision yesterday with a total of nine people being taken to hospital.

Police investigations in to the cause of the crash continue.
