The Times is reporting the former Lib Dem leader filmed the video last year

The former deputy-prime minister Nick Clegg caused confusion last year when he was spotted high-fiving his way through the streets of Gravesend.

And now The Times has revealed just what the former Lib Dem leader was up to during his visit to north Kent.

According to newspapers’ website, the Lib Dems spent several days filming a shot-for-shot recreation of the video for Carly Rae Jepsen’s I Really Like You

It is being reported that the video was an attempt for the party to go viral in the lead-up to last year’s general election.

The video was ultimately pulled, and the Lib Dems lost 49 MPs when Britain went to the polls.
