Temperatures are expected to hit 35C today across Kent and south London as the heatwave continues.

Gravesend in particular will be attempting to reclaim its title as the hottest place in the country - though whether it will reach the dizzying 38.1C heights of August 2003 remains to be seen.

The town’s inland location gives it a slightly more continental climate than coastal Kent, making it less cloudy, drier, and hotter in summer (but colder in winter).

If you’re out enjoying the sunshine in one of the many lovely parks and open spaces that we are blessed with in this part of the country, we’d love to hear from you. Email your pictures to sarah.linney@archant.co.uk or call 01233 653483.
