»An anonymously donated photograph of a 1940s football team has sparked a search for facts about team and player details.

Dartford Borough Museum is hoping for clues about the schoolboys pictured, who staff believe are the Dartford Schoolboy Eleven.

The team took part in the Association Football Demonstration at the Dartford Gala in Central Park on August 2, 1947. A programme from the day describes the team as including seven pupils from the West Central School (Raymond Vickers; Michael Dyer; M. Rose; J. Maine; Allan Joyce; Brian Clifford and Peter Clifford), three from the East Central School (J. Fish; Ken Harrison and G. Tappin) and one from Erith Technical School (Allan Wooten).

If you have any information about the boys involved, contact the museum on 01322 224739 or email them at museum@dartford.gov.uk
