THIS week our Help a Pet appeal is looking for homes for a chatty cat and a quartet of rabbits.

When five-year-old black cat Whisky was taken to the vets, his owners were unable to meet the bill so they decided to have him put to sleep.

But Anim-Mates was called and volunteers were able to rescue him.

His fosterer, Teresa Bloomfield, said: "Whisky's medical problems have all been sorted out and he is doing very well.

"He is a friendly boy who has a good appetite and a lovely nature. He chats away to the other cats we have in rescue."

Whisky is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

If you can give a home to Whisky, call Teresa on 01634 271456 or 07743 331397.

Also needing a home this week are four rabbits, three female and one male, Bramble, Maureen, Mavis and Toby.

If you can offer them a home, call Terry on 07821 318241.
