A 50-YEAR-OLD female cashier was bundled into a toilet at a petrol station while a group of men searched for cash and cigarettes.

The attempted robbery took place at 2am this morning (tues 11) at the Esso service station on the London-bound carriage way of the A2 at Cobham.

One man stood guard at the toilet door while others searched the station. Police believe as many as seven men, who were all hooded and masked, could have been involved.

They had placed cones at the entrance to the service station to stop drivers from entering the service station.

The gang made off empty handed in a silver Ford Transit van. The cashier was shaken, but unharmed and no weapons were used.

If you have any information which may help police with their inquiries, contact Detective Sergeant Cameron Riley at North Kent on 01474 366098 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
