A FULL North Kent Sunday League fixture programme was completed for the first time in over a month, writes Bob Osbon.
In the Reporter Cup, most games went to form, with Rose and Crown Shorne the day's topscorers in a 9-0 drubbing of Battle of Britain.
Dave Gooding (2), Damian Blowers (2), Delroy Samuel, Peter Finin, Arron Brown, Lee Quarrington and an own goal made up the tally.
Sun had little trouble disposing of Punjab United as Sam Jefferys' brace set them on their way to a 7-1 victory.
A hat-trick from Brad Cross and a single from Paul Dalton gave Real Gima enough to knock out New Ash Green Badger, whose sole reply came from Dean Austin.
Alex McCay (2), Chris Mullin, Jamie Wolton, Scott Paul and John Mee were on target as A&Z Sports hit Cliffe Wood Rangers for six. Rangers replied with two of their own. Vigo overcame Hollisters 5-4 after extra-time thanks to strikes from Mark Bishop (2), Jay Bartlett, Dave Hubble and Dave Armstrong.
In another tight encounter, Lee Clarke's lone effort was all that separated triumphant FC Longfield and Old Comrades. The shock of the round saw Division Four outfit Stafford Salons cut Division One side George Singlewell down to size with a 4-1 penalty shoot-out win after being locked at 4-4 following extra-time. Two further sides needing spot-kicks to decide their fate were New Ash Green Reserves and AEI - with the former 5-3 victors.
New Ash Green came away from a tricky tie at Brent Club with an excellent 6-1 win as Shaun Smith (2) Steve Woodgate, Adam Cable, Dave Ratcliffe and Perry Simpson filled their boots. Ampofo progress to the next round with a fine 6-2 triumph at Nurstead and also through are Alma after a 4-2 success at Brentstonians and Gravesend Spartans, having beaten Guru Hargogind Sahib 5-1.
IN THE Presidents Cup, Fulwich Hotel made light work of Milton and Denton Reserves by thumping them 9-2. Kirk Parry bagged twice as Valley Rovers crushed AFC Burnham 8-2, Hartley De Sales needed extra-time to end Northfleet United's hopes in a 3-2 scoreline, while Mark Sharp hit a treble as Woodman went nap at the Works. Istead hit six without reply against Milton and Denton, a brace from Simon West gave Imperium the edge in a 3-2 result against Oddfellows and Division One side Shorne prevailed by the same scoreline in their clash with Terrace Tavern.
Swanscombe Tigers Reserves narrowly defeated Gravesend Spartans Reserves 2-1 and A&Z Sports Reserves were three goals to the good against Trax. AFC Rose were 2-0 winners over Swan Valley in Division Two, a tier further down Taverners shared four goals with Hartley Athletic and, in the bottom rung, Ebbsfleet Reserves recorded a positive result 4-2 at Old Leather Bottle.
